Innit

Kottke posted a remainder entry describing one of the things I was happy to leave behind in the UK when I moved to the US – the bloody awful contraction “innit”.
America, I implore you. You may have been stupid enough to create Nascar, televangelists, George Bush and Hot Pockets, but for the love of god, do the decent thing and don’t start using this phrase.
Please.
For me.

I have much the same expression as the mother in this picture while I’m curled up with my dog…

Drop Clock

I’ve been a huge fan of Yugo Nakamura since the days of Flash 4, and I still have a soft spot for the Clock Blocks screensaver he made back in 2001.
His latest toy – released through his SCR label is Drop Clock:
DROPCLOCK IS AN AESTHETICALLY INTRIGUING MOTION CLOCK SCREENSAVER. EVERY MINUTE OF REAL TIME IS NUMERICALLY EXPRESSED WITH HEAVY HELVETICA DROPPING INTO WATER IN SUPER SLOW-MOTION.
Awesome stuff.
